What do you consider a hidden gem in your county? In each individual county in Ohio’s Heart, there are places that we all love, but aren’t as known as we would like for them to be. They have quality people, products, and wonderful stories that provide us all with benefits. In Coshocton County we have five hidden gems that we value and hope that others will too.
Second Hidden Treasure in Ohio’s Heart is Rainbow Hills.
Tucked away into Coshocton County, you may find the relaxing, serene Rainbow Hills area. Rainbow Hills was the very first winery in Coshocton County. It began when Joy and Lee Wise bought the property in 1985. It was merely land and a log cabin initially, and they saw a vision that has improved Coshocton ever since.
They created Rainbow Hills and opened it up officially for business in 1988. In order to get to Rainbow Hills, it is a little bit of a drive, but it is more than worth it for a relaxing night away. Once you get there, I can assure you, you will not look back and probably won’t want to leave! The log cabin that was there when they originally bought it, was turned into an intimate bed and breakfast for anyone looking for a getaway or just for visitors from out of town.
During the summer, you can bring your own meat or choice of meal and cook it on the grill right beside your table and have the luxury of making it precisely to your preference, while drinking some of the best wine in town, and spending quality time with you special someone, friends, or family.
Drinking wine, cooking steaks, enjoying natures beauty, and taking a romantic date night with your significant other or get together with the family, I can assure you that the atmosphere and your experience will be amazing! They are open daily from 11 am to 9 pm and are closed on Sundays. They offer outdoor decks from June to September and also provide limited indoor seating.
