What do you consider a hidden gem in your county? In each individual county in Ohio’s Heart, there are places that we all love, but aren’t as known as we would like for them to be. They have quality people, products, and wonderful stories that provide us all with benefits. In Coshocton County we have five hidden gems that we value and hope that others will too.
Coshocton County is a little place filled with about 36,000 people in it. Which might sound like a lot, but when we compare it to places close such as, Newark with 50,000 and Knox with 60,000 we are, in fact, a good amount smaller. But inside the small town of Coshocton, we have many hidden treasures. We thought of five to be exact.
First Hidden Treasure- Kids America
One of our very favorite places to go to exercise, socialize, or sit on the sidelines and support, is Kids America. Kids America is a non-profit organization health and recreational center open to all ages. They offer an incredible amount of activities. For example, three full sized basketball and volleyball courts, as well as one large and one small turf soccer field, two rooms for weight lifting, a full sized track, not to mention a plethora of fields outside around the building, too, for soccer and baseball and softball. Additionally, you can play tennis, racket ball, pickle ball, and more on those basketball courts. And just recently they have added a section in the back that you can swing a golf cub on, just like batting cages to perfect your golf swing. Lastly, they have several aerobics rooms, for whatever you please! They normally provide classes in yoga, pound, hiit, and cardio drumming in these rooms.
They offer a wide range of activities and are open a wide range of hours for people of all ages. Shorties soccer, to silver sneakers walking groups, and all in between. They have very reasonable prices on memberships and I think it’s normally around $6 to get in for one day. Either way, you would be supporting your community to continue to have this awesome health and fitness center right in Coshocton County.
